Before things get too crazy with the holiday season, I wanted to ask everyone to mark their new calendars for our special get-together on ROC Day, Saturday January 7th, a.k.a Saint Distaff's Day.

This day spinning-women1is a gathering of friends with common interests in fibers… a celebration of the New Year, specifically for their art, and a way of paying homage to the past.

Hope you can come, bring a dish to share, a gift for exchange (if you want to participate) and an afternoon of festivities and yummy food!

Yes, it 's November already and our meeting is a week early.  Join us for a great video, A Weaverly Path: the tapestry life of Silvia Heydena documentary.  silvia

"Kenny Dalsheimer’s A Weaverly Path captures a privileged and intimate slice of time observing Silvia Heyden, providing an unprecedented opportunity to see and hear what she experiences during a period of deep involvement with her Muse, the Eno River. Heyden’s quest is not to weave a representational depiction of the river, but to interpret the river’s fluid patterns, shapes, sounds, and ever-changing nature, to represent its movement and flow with the yarns of her tapestries."   (
