Just a reminder that our next meeting is this coming Tuesday, April 28. Our program will be on Braids, presented by Tracy Jackson, and we'll have a Tips-n-Tricks for the handspinner. See you at 7PM!
So what have you been up to over this long cold winter? Hopefully, the snow and below freezing temps encouraged you to stay indoors and work on your fiber art of choice! Whether your project is finished or unfinished.... take a picture of it and send it to Cheryl with one sentence describing what you're doing! Not camera savvy when it comes to point, click and post? Then why not write up a paragraph on a class that you've taken, or a new fiber skill that you're learning. Maybe you're a member of one of our SIGs.... tell everyone why you joined, and what you've learned thus far! We want to hear all about it! Our faithful newsletter editor Cheryl will be putting together our April/May edition of the guild newsletter at the end of this month. Please submit your item of interest to her by Saturday, March 21.
The 2015 Yearbook is now available on the Members' site to download and print. Log in and click on the "Yearbook" tab. Those that receive the newsletter via USPS will get theirs in the mail.
As a side note – if anyone wants to sign up for the JoAnn Fabric VIP club, a copy of this Yearbook is a great proof of guild membership. The VIP club allows the cardbearer to receive 10% off their purchase at any time (but not in conjunction with any other offer or coupon).
Happy New Year! join us for the first meeting and program of 2015. Don't forget that our 2014 President's Challenge will be presented! If you've made "Something Warm" be sure to show and tell! The meeting starts at 7PM at Lake Metroparks Farmpark.
Just a reminder, if you haven't looked at our schedule of programs - there is no January meeting tonight. We always have iffy weather and so have not scheduled a January meeting for years 🙂 But make sure you join us in February as we learn about backstrap weaving, and learn a spinner's tip about plying on the fly! All of this information (and more) in the SIG edition newsletter that you received in the mail back in December. If you don't have this newsletter handy, you will find it on under the "About" tab on this site. See you in February!
