A reminder that there is no Guild meeting in January.  The next meeting will be on February 28th.

This means that you still have time to work on your President’s Challenge of

Sustainability in the Fiber Arts

which will be the focus of February’s meeting.

You can read more about Flora’s thoughts on this challenge in the February 2022 newsletter.  Here are a few of her ideas:

“……there are a few things I’ve added to my crafting to be more sustainable.
• Purchasing from small businesses, especially those that are located near me.
• Buying yarn made from heritage breeds to help support farmers focused on maintaining
biodiversity.
• Focusing on purchasing fiber made from naturally occurring materials.
• Using natural dyes or naturally colored fiber.
• Combining different yarn or fiber into a larger project, to use up stash instead of buying
more materials.”
