John Martin will lead a forum

 “All the Questions You Have Been Dyeing to Ask”

Bring your questions and expect to participate in an open conversation and discussion about getting the colors you want and dyeing pros and cons.

John Martin brings his background as an Ink Chemist to his work in dyeing. Growing up in New Zealand, John was very familiar with a variety of sheep breeds and the various aspects and qualities of their wool. He began his spinning career in 1971 and moved to the United States in 1981. John worked for many years as an Ink Chemist for the Morrison Ink Company in Cleveland, OH and he made the logical transition into and expansion of his fiber art skills in Dyeing.  John has many years of experience in spinning, dyeing, knitting, crocheting and weaving.  Over the past 25 years, he has taught numerous workshops and short courses in these areas. He is the proprietor of Susan Yarns located in Cleveland Heights on South Taylor Road. John’s program, “The Pros and Cons of Various Dyeing and Color Mixing Methods to Create the Colors You Want for Wool and Cotton Fibers” will be a practical review of dyeing and color mixing methods, materials and products he has found to be reliable. Following a Q & A format, John’s presentation will include ample opportunities for discussion, conversation and all your questions.  He will also share his recent experiences and thoughts on venturing into the use of e-spinning wheels.
